I'm reading in the paper that Conway is now normal level. Anybody doing any good? It'll be interesting to see how the draw down will affect the spring crappie and summer bluegill.

I would like to know as well...I do know that Don (Dr. Pepper) went this weekend. Hopefully he will have a report soon.
On another note...Are you about ready to get back in a boat, J?
I'm hoping in another week or two, CEB. Right now I don't think I could handle the cold on my chest. Things are still a bit sore and sensitive. Should be able to start driving later this week though.
Thanks for asking. Feeling better and stronger everyday and look forward to being back to complete normal (without the sick chest feelings) before spring.
Hope all is well with you.
Its good to hear that you are recovering well from the surgery. I know you have to be itching to get back out there.

I had planned to maybe drop by and check on you, But those pesky Crappie wouldn't leave me alone.
I went fishing in Wilamena Cove. The usual 30 or so boats were in there. I was the second one off of the launch; so I got my usual spot. I didn't have to move my boat but once and came home with 10 nice ones after about 7 hrs. Can't say that I patterned them. I caught them on both colors of minnows and about 4 different colors of jigs. I was tight lining and casting a slip cork rig.
I saw a couple of guys tight lining bringing up some 2.5 pounders. The biggest ones I saw was a genuine 3 pounder weighed in at the launch. The same fellow had a 2.5 pounder. He was spider rigging just like CEB.
They slowed down about 9:30 and had quit by 2PM. But, I don't think they even knew they were supposed to be messed up with the fluctuations in water levels. I caught mostly males. So, it is not time to start searching the flats yet.

Thanks for the update. And thanks guys for the good words I'm looking forward to getting out there soon. Sounds like Lake Conway is going to shape up nicely.

Thanks for the update, Don. Where exactly is Wilamena Cove? I guess I should be gettin' on out there...:DQuote:

From the launch, go to the right, under train tressel, about 3/4 mile you will see the cove to the right. Go under the pedestian bridge.
From the bridge to the mouth, the depth is about 10'. Right out in the middle it usually is about 9'. Good brush piles right in the middle of the cove, in the middle of the gut as it enters the cove, and just to the right of this pile.
But, I have caught them all over the cove.
You should do well with your style here. The creek itself is good during transitions. The Flats I always mention are directly in front of the launch.

This might be a stupid question?
What time were you getting to the launch.
I usually was one of the first boats out there last year and hate getting behind lines of people who take for ever to launch. What time are you normally launching.
A few questions for you Conway Pros...
Anything good in the 2nd cove?
Anyone know why the fish stack up in Wilamena cove???
Anyone ever try the deep water straight out from Gold Creek Point? Looks promising on the map...
