Welcome Birddogn' to Florida............
Where you can Crappie (Spec) fish year round, rain or shine.
They will bite all the time, just a little tuffer at times
What part of Florida are you residing in - maybe can point
you direct of good lakes in your area - fishermen in your
part of state that will help get started down here. (What knowledge
you gained up North, throw it away, be prepared to start over)
Crappie fishing in Florida is totally different than up North.

south Florida(Miami) only crappie fished a couple time in big-O. having a hard time finding them. any pointer on how to find them would be great. what should i look for?
Thanks
Not fished in the area but a few years back we visited Miami and were at Holiday Park looking around and a feller came in with a large cooler full of specks. So they got to be in the area. Good part is while looking for them you should be well entertained by all the other bream and cichlids as well as bass. Find heavy weeds and poke holes in it and drop a jig in. Same for trees and any other structure you can find. Welcome to the fotum and feel free to ask any direct questions ya need. You wont get gps #'s but everyone is more than willing to help with tactics.
Welcome from Orange City. Stick around a while and you'll see folks post about trips they make down your way. From now on you can't help it, you're gonna learn stuff you need.
We will be holding tournament on Okeechobee, February 27th,
Okeetaniee ramp. (ramp on south side of hwy 78 right at the Kissimmee river
bridge entrance to lake) Should be several at weigh in that would be glad to
assist you in how to sets for the big O. Also look over their equipment while
there - poles, jigs, colors, weights etc. This alone will or should help you greatly.
If you need further assistance send me a pm
