Long johns

What type of thermals do you wear? I wear them, then insulated blue jeans, then coveralls. That does a pretty good job. Am interested in the warmest things you have

I wear polypropylene under any cold weather clothing. It wicks the sweat away and keeps me much warmer. Top, bottoms and socks. Over the past several years I have spent untold days in snow goose spreads and duck blinds in some unbearable weather. It always works for me.

I like the cool weather under armor or the poly. Stuff. My bids and jacket do most of the work :)

I wear 100% polypropylene cold weather bottoms(Army issue), jeans. Long sleeve thermal tops, flannel shirt, insulated hoodie, insulated windbreaker jacket w/ hood. If it's really brutal, I'll drop the jacket and opt for insulated coveralls w/ hood. Insulated boots.

I wear an Ice Armor ice fishing suit over top a hooded sweat shirt, Ice Armor gloves, long underwear, wool socks and Muck boots. Never been cold yet and I'm originally from Wisconsin. Haven't had to bundle up quite as much since I moved to Tennessee.

Minus 33, merino wool. Good stuff.

I guess I have had or tried about everything over the years short of the actual snowmobile suits or arctic wear. I will have to say though back in the 70's I had a real goose down coat and that thing was warm and light beyond belief. It wasn't as tough on the exterior as say Carharts or something so I did not wear it for work or hunting in briar patches,but for sheer warmth man it was awesome.You couldn't do anything but sit in it or you would break a sweat.One of the few things I have ever had stolen in my life. Somebody stole it off my truck seat one day.

I setup by a fireplace and pop atop on cold beer if that cold !!!!:biggrin

Hunting I don't wear long underware if its real cold, blue jeans/ longsleeve shirt and my Hush Hide. Fishing is a different game, I have the Rocky stuff from Wally world tops and bottoms in all 3 weights. Depending on the weather I start with the lighter stuff and then the medium and then the heavy, blue jeans/ longsleeve shirt, hoody if needed and my rain suit. Top layer needs to be water/wind proof, makes all the difference in the world. Most of the time I dont need but 2 layers of the Rocky stuff but when really cold will put all 3 on.
