First Time to Lochloosa
My father, aunt and I gave our first try at Lochloosa this morning. We actually counted all fish and totaled at 122, but the crappie were mostly in the 8-10 inch range. My aunt caught one 14.5" fish and maybe a dozen 12" keepers. Pretty lake, but too far for me to want to travel to again anytime soon.

Least ya caught fish! Have traveled much further and spent piles of money to catch nothing offshore. 122 fish is a pretty steady bite unless you were on the water for 10-12 hours. Bet ya had fun! But I get what yer saying.

You're right Mike. We had fun and were kept busy, but we should have gone to Harney. :)
-
It is simple to know where you should have went. Wish knowing where to go was as easy.
-
Nice going Luke, glad to see you got out and had some good action. See you in a month I hope.

You were no doubt fishing somewhat shallow - long-ling etc
When sun comes up over trees on that lake - quality fish go down
No offense - FCC fished this lake October 10th - several 2 pounders were caught.
First place took it with 10 lbs 14.3 oz on 7 fish.
Excellant fishery - lots of good eating fish there in the 10 - 12 in range.
Fun lake to fish...........small fish will keep you busy..............

Good to hear you had a chance to get out :)

Good info to know Harold. You are spot on...we started fishing at 8:30, which the day before was actually 9:30. So the sun was well above the trees. We had fun, but it is quite a drive for me.

The cool-hand making his rounds=luv it!! The travel makes for a long day, but ya got to catch up with aunty & pop's as well as some steady action OTW, can't beat that most days:cheers2

Sounds like a busy day, know what ya mean on the travel, I have always wanted to try that lake but never
went for it since it's so far from me.
I've always liked to fish/hunt close to home & if I couldn't I guess I'd move
