But, quick answer is whatever is on sale. Most all modern lines now are perfectly fine. Keep it fresh and keep it clean. I use P-line, Yo-Zuri hybrid, Stren, and others. 4# or 6# depending on the chance of snags in the area I'm fishing, and then tipped with 2# or 4# leader.

2lb trout sos... Pline xxtra strong 4lb... And 4lb bass pro excel are what I use
Stren . 4,6,8. depending on water clarity and/or trash in water .original clear blue florescent . 6lb. being used the most .
2 lb. Trilene XL. I not stuck on Trilene, but it generally is the only monofilament available in 2 lb. around here. Sometimes 4 lb. mono. in any available non-generic brand. I generally stick to clear or dark green lines.
2lb XXX izorline (smoke) and Yo-Zuri Hybrid (green) both are a co-polymer lines. Use to be a Tectan fan.....
Kinda depends on the jig and soft plastic or other body material total weight. Another consideration is whether you're vertical jigging or casting/retrieving. For the above, 4-6# test Trilene or a good fluorocarbon works fine, but I've also used 6# test braid (2lb diameter) and done fine. Too high a line diameter may overpower very light lures and not allow the type of desired retrieve. 2# test is rarely needed in my experience - even under the ice.
6 lbs fluorocarbon for all panfish.
Sorry I asked this Question
