Who has had this happen?
I took my Dad to brewer Sunday afternoon for a little Father's day fishing and I had just boated a fish and he was helping get it into the livewell when I noticed he had a fish on his pole (in the holder). He gets up grabs the pole and tries to bring it in then we realize he has a big fish. We assume its a cat but when it gets to the top its an average size crappie. I'm puzzled for a split second then right behind it I see the big bass right before he swims off. I've caught a lot of crappie but this was the first time this has happened to me. Let's hear some stories :)
Oh i did catch this nice slab below. Maybe the widest I've caught, almost as wide as my elec filet knife blades are long..

When that's happened to me trolling crank baits it is usually because they're foul hooked and pulling sideways. It's funny and disappointing at the same time, thinking it's a slab and turns out to be mediocre at best. But did have a friend who was about to boat a bream when a big catfish slammed it.

We have had Bass come up and eat small Crappie we toss back several times. Caught a big Flathead that ate a 3 lb Channel on on noodle once.

Had a big bass splash the water behind a small crappie before. He did it two times in a 10 minute span of time, then I guess he moved on to another brushpile. Fun when it happens, but you have to see it to believe it. GTT

Years ago, I was fishing a brush pile with Jerry Blake (separate boats). His client brought in a pretty nice bass with a live bream in it's mouth which fell out to the bottom of the boat. DP

Don't know if the bass was chasing the crappie or not but had my pole bend over big time one trip and thought I had a monster....only to pull it up and see a small crappie on the first hook and about a 1.5lb bass on the other. Not the double I was looking for but fun none the less!!

We caught a small bass, 1lb and a half maybe, on Dardanelle back in the Spring. He had a HUGE Shad lodged in his throat so tight that we couldn't pull it out with a pair of needle nose pliers. We couldn't believe he bit our jig, theres no way he would have been able to swallow it.
