New light REPORT
Got my new green LED’s in the mail last Friday (only have used white before and had done well with them). Got home from work Saturday morning and put my new fishing light together. Took it for a try Sunday night at Tillery. Had tons of minnows around it in no time. Had also put out the white light and it was no comparison could not be happier with the new light? BUT the fish did not show up, only had 12 by midnight and they were not all keepers. Was the light to bright? Was it just a slow night? Will have to go out more to find the answer:biggrin WT 83 fishing in 30 feet of water. All fish came from around 15/20 feet. Using minnows only.

I want to get a light and try this out. I see berkley has come out with some nice looking products: Berkley Lights
Thought about making my own and probably will one day but for now probably need to buy something ready to fish :)
I've wondered about how long it takes for the crappie to show up, maybe if you kept the light out for a few more hours? That's the main issue with me, I couldn't stay out much pass midnight, always have to be up and running in the morning even on the weekends.

pam. where did you order your light. I'm looking to start doing some night fishing

Academy has the green light by Optronics for bout 20 bucks. I got a couple and they been good .

As long as you are in a decent area that has some fish they pretty much show up immediately. I go to spots where I've caught them before and put the lights in the water and bait fish show up within just a couple of minutes and the crappie are not long after. The lights are not going to bring fish in from across the lake but they do draw them from your general area. I've even done a slow troll with the lights out. It has to be a very slow troll.

Went to Tillery Fri and Sat night too. I made my green LED light and it worked great and drew the bait fish in just like your pics. Both nights were slow for me and was too embarrased with what we caught that I didn't post anything. They were all small. What I did learn though is that Night fishing for Crappie requires a different setup, and it was clear not long after it got dark, that I was not set up. I have never been on one of the Nightstalks where our Crappie.com Friends get together and fish, but I think I will join in some of the next ones and get some tips from the pro's.

We are having one this Saturday at Jordan at the ebenezer ramp we are going to grill hotdogs probably be eating bout 5:00 y'all welcome to come would enjoy having you

Thanks for the invite Mac, but Jordan's just a little far for me. I'm more of a Badin, Tillery, Wylie, Wateree type. I know my way around those lakes better especially in the dark.......and there's no standing timber. We'd have to tie a rope from you boat to mine if I went to Jordan. It would be like an Escort service. :peacesmile
