The spring crappie bite has come and gone here now so its time to start looking at larger baits for the crappies. They were looking for larger food already last week at this time.
I've been having some decent luck on a Keitech color called Pro Staff Special, which is basically a pearled, thin fluorescent orange with a little bit of white in it under a baby bass. All of the colors used are the X2 colors from Do-It. The smaller baits I did in this don't have enough mass to get the colors to light up but this 3" bait that I am putting together as a up-size bait really "pops" and the bait is very nice looking. Hopefully the crappies will find favor in it too.

The baby bass is a re-melt and has some green glitter, uv enhancer and green and black .015 glitter. The orange was hand poured, the green injected.
