another pole length question.

Does anybody alternate 12/14/12/14 foot length poles when spider riggin and is there any advantage/disadvantage to alternating lengths.

When I use 8, I do 4 x 14 and 4 x 12 or 2 x 12 and 2 x 10. Just personal preference. Shorter and lighter on the outsides. Longest in the center

All the same for me, 14 foot Southern Crappie's are proving to be a good rod.
