Welcome! What part of the state have you moved to?
Welcome to oklahoma !
Howdy, 001.
Just work through the threads and you'll get some excellent advice, plus some humor from crappie ciller. A word of warning, be careful where you step at some of the boat ramps. Read the Washunga thread for details.
If you have specific questions (Other than: Where is your favorite honey hole?), just post, and you'll get some help.
Welcome 001! What part of Ok are you in and what part of AR did you leave? And pay attention to the advice from Bigsky! lol
Welcome To Gods Country 001.....Ranger
Moved to Edmond from Conway, AR. Man do I miss fishing Lake Conway. And don't worry I'm not one to ask for people's honey holes or anything. I'm just an ol hillbilly looking to find my way around. If anyone wants to go sometime just let me know. I do have my own boat and enjoy the company. Anymore it's more about just being out there fishing for me and enjoying what the good lord gave us. We lost almost everything we had in the tornado last April in Arkansas so I cherish every day the good lord lets me see another wonderful sunrise. But man do I like them slabs as I'm sure everyone else in here does. And if anyone is wanting any tips on some of the Arkansas lakes I used to fish regularly just ask. If you haven't fished Lake Conway, you oughta give it a try. Glad they just increased the size to 10" and bigger only. Had several days on that lake where we'd catch over 100 fish (culling the small ones of course and not keeping over our limit) and still could have caught more. I'm sure the tactics may be somewhat different in OK as compared to AR so I might ask for some advice from you guys. Looking forward to enjoying this wonderful state's lakes. One question though....."How the he** do you adapt to the wind to set up and fish?" Haha. Do you have to have 50 lb anchors to hold your boats in place once you find em? Hahaha
Welcome home 001! As Ranger said to 'Gods Country'. You know that advise is like.....well you know. Don't get lost around here or we'll send the Po Po out to look for ya! Lots of good guys live not too far from ya. More than a few will hook up with ya. As for the wind, ' if it ain't blowin we aint goin'!
Welcome to the Oklahoma Board Sprtsmn001! I am thinking unless you get over on the east side around Eufaula and Wister, you wont find the fish here like Conway and Dardanelle produce but there are some great lakes here. Lots of great folks on this board and always willing to help. Look forward to seeing some of your posts!!!
Welcome home 001-sorry to hear of your tornado troubles but it has blown you to a good place with a lot of good folks. I lurk on the Arkansas sites enuf to know that you will be hard pressed to beat those results here but I have a favorite lake there and can tell you that the okie crappie fight harder and taste better than those to the southeast of here where I think the slabs are gristly and wore out from fighting alligators. When you figure out the wind please let all of us know the secret.
