Tight to the bottom
My experience at Jordan today was that the crappie were tight to the bottom or structure. We were fishing jigs only and managed 10 keepers in about 3 hours. If anyone else fished today I'd like to hear how your fish were behaving. Thanks and good luck to any who bare the cold in the next few days!

went wensday fished till 11am caught 9 good fish was not feeling well wind did not make it any better so i gave it up the fish i caught where deep and on the bottom jig heads tipped with minnows with all this cold weather on the way who knows what they will be doing next week

I caught a ton on Wednesday from 8 to 18ft. A lot of them were up in the water column and it was 50/50 on the top jig. All on Mr. Crappie 2" Jokers, freshly procured from Monk Wilson. That pumpkinseed and chartreuse is a killer. But just about any color worked.

Got some of those jokers at wal mart of course very limited colors none in the pumpkinseed have to give him a call would like go get away from the minnows

Think next week if I get back out there just going to leave the minnow bucket at home got a boat load of jigs should be able to find some thing they will like

Wednesday the fish were up higher for me too. I was referring to thursday as the weather was getting colder as the day went on. 8ft? that's great. I assuming you were on the north end of the lake? Chief? Thanks for the response from both of you

Again, the best way to learn to catch fish on jigs is to leave the minnow bucket at home. Who couldn't use the $10 or $20 you spend every trip? You'll soon gain confidence and will be fighting that guy who goes with you once a year and has to have minnows.
Gobble, North end - not, but they should be there.

Chief do you fish any of the bobby garland babby shads have had some luck on those baits thinking I might need to get more colors to try

Couldn't agree more. Nothing like the "thump" on a jig bite.
