Another OOPS!!!

The last two out of three trips have been real adventures with some unusual events. No I didn't overflow the live well again. However, I did fish alone today and tried a new longer launch rope - guess what, it broke. Staring at your boat 300 yards from the ramp with no one in it - would definitely qualify as an unusual event. An hour later, a couple of folks did come to my rescue. Now on to a fish story - fished for an hour or so in 3 or 4 spots and only put one dink in the boat. Moved on to some swallow water and caught a good limit in the next hour. Had 4 or 5 fish between 13 and 15 inches. I love that thump in skinny water.

Good job, Richard. Also, had something very similar to that happen to me one time. Wind blew the boat out while I was gone to get the truck. Funny feeling coming back to the ramp and seeing your boat out there in the water. I had to strip down and wade and get mine as I was the last person on the lake! Thanks for the post and the pics.

They're on recall right now, but should be the ticket when they get em fixed.

I did something like that once, but I just forgot to hook my rope to the trailer! I had to take a November swim in the Mississippi River. Glad all worked out for ya

I was launching one time last spring, my dad pulled the trailer up to park and I was pulling the boat by the launch rope to the little dock. We had forgot to trim the motor up and the prop was stuck on the sandy bottom so I walked out on the dock to pull it away from the bank and when I pulled on the rope it broke and I fell in the water. Luckily the prop was still stuck in the sand.

Nice fish. The rope thing probably happens to everyone sooner or later. Never had to swim, but had to jump out and run into the water a time or two. Best thing is that you figured out a bite and caught a good mess of fish.
