Sure hope you killed it!
I had a big one jump in the boat with me late last summer, knocked the bezel of my depth finder and got blood and slime everywhere before I got him in my dip net. For that little deed I gave him a ride to the bank, put him about 20' from the shoreline. I'm sure the coons ate well that night.
Wal-mart has machetes :biggrin They'd come in real handy for "releasing" those fish, after a good solid whack across the neck, that is. :ThumbsUp

Whiskers bout the time I got him up to the boat he broke off. I wished I could of gotten rid of it.
Start carrying a pistol!!! :biggrin
Choooot em! Choooot em!
NO ... it's "illegal" whether you get caught or not. Crappie.com does not condone activities that are illegal, under any circumstances.
If the minnows CAME from the the lake ... no problem. If the minnows came from somewhere else ... he might have been testing you, to see if you were compliant with the suggestion that live bait not be dumped into the lake, but on the shore. If he were serious ... I'd suggest he read the highlighted block on the Aquatic Nuisance Species page of the Ky Fishing/Boating Guide, where it says : DISPOSE of unwanted livebait on shore – DO NOTSTOCK THE LAKE!
