Redear??

So this is what all the Redear look like in my lake. Never had any red on the lobe.

Caught this 8" guy the other day. Seems to have some red on the lobe but weird Bull Bluegill like body shape. Hybrid maybe?

Ya G that is same as my first pic, except ours dont have the red which I heard is common.

I have caught planty of big Bull Bluegill but they were dark and more typical BG color and markings.

This one was weird color and big eyes and a lil red on the lobe.

Red ear and bluegill will mix when spawning. The bottom pic looks like a bluegill. Here is a pic of a cross between shell cracker and a bluegill. This occurs naturally. The local TWRA lakes at Williamsport have quite a few of these. A TWRA Fish Biologist confirmed this as a cross between the two.

The bottom fish looks like a typical bluegill to me. On the lake I fish bluegill vary a lot in color depending on time of year, but the red on the lobe does make it interesting.

Alphahawk that's one beautiful fish I would like to catch one of those. Was that one caught in the spring?

Yes in early spring. Those TWRA lakes at Williamsport have quite a few of those in there. I would fish those lakes more but the road to the lakes is limestone and the dust is as fine as talcum powder. Gets all inside your vehicle.
