Are you guys eating Buggs crappie?

I know that it is a personal decision since there is no official "warning" from the corp of engineers or from DGIF. And I know there have been a few studies so far (unofficially from NC State students for example) on the spill with mixed reviews. Personally, I wouldn't eat a catfish from the mouth of the Dan, but I probably would eat a crappie from Bluestone, Butchers, or the main lake nearby etc...Curious what others are doing?

Yes, everyone I've talked with are eatin the crappie they catch...me too! I've talked with EPA folks that tol me if ya skin ya fish, ya take 90% of all toxins out with the skin. and the biggest concern seems to be that the celinium will sterilize future generations, but that don't affect the eatin, just the spawnin.

I'm not eating them, and I have asked many others here in town and they are not eating ANY fish either.

I ate mine, I didn't taste any difference... there were similar concerns with the ocean fish after the oil pipe leakage in the Gulf... not to mention the nuclear waste from Japan... I decided I was done with shell fish or any ocean fish for that matter, but after a while I made the decision to eat what I want in moderation and just live, I understand anyone who decides not to eat it. :twocents

I ate some as well. Just don't plan to make it a habit. But I can see better in the dark now though. I guess we really won't know the effects for several years.
