great mourning
took my daughter turkey hunting this mourning near cave city, the woods are beautiful this time of year with the dogwood in full bloom and the sound if gobbles in the air, we got on 3 big boys that wanted to play the game right off the bat , we sat patiently waiting on daylight and for the big birds to fly down from their roost, it wasnt long after the fly down and we had em coming in, they put on a show gobbling and strutting , drumming , they mush have gobbled 100 times in 10 minutes, but as they often do they got quit on the final approach and circled coming in to our right putting haley out of position for a shot, at 25 yards the big boys gave one last gobble each that would blow your cap off and not seeing the hen they were looking for turn and walked away , as the birds got a good distance away we quickly got up and circled back in front of them and sat up once again , within 30 minutes had them on a string and coning hard , we just knew we were gonna get it done this time, but Wiley coyote had a different plan flushing the birds and ending our hunt, nature is a great thing and spending time in the out doors interacting with its creatures is the ultimate experience!!!! we will get em next time!!!!!Attachment 159384Attachment 159386

Bet that had happened to every hunter that has ever picked up a call more than once...still a great hunt and story.

Nice day to be in the woods. Sounds like ya'll got your blood pumping anyway. That anticipation with them gobbling just out of range can be tough on a hunter.
