Interstate
Thanks, will check into them. Any idea on what group size I need.
delco voyager I use the 31 series but the 28's are fine
I hear good things about Interstate, and that was my last purchase. Can't tell you how they hold up because they were just bought a few months ago. That said, I wouldn't get toooo caught up in branding as it seems Johnson Controls makes most of the them. In regards to battery size you could just look for what size fits in your current battery holder, then find the battery with the largest reserve capacity. Or get technical, contact the mfr to determine amp draw of your trolling motor, and determine what you really need.
Did a ton of research on this last last when we were ready to buy ours and ended up finding that the everstarts last us just as long an cost way less and include a warranty for a year. We use ours multiple times a week and that's what we based the decision off of. If you're not a frequent user then a higher end battery might last you longer.
I like and use Sears Die Hard as there are so many Sears stores to do a warranty. I like Interstate as well, 27 size in the deep cycle works really well.

I also spent some time researching marine batteries a few months ago since I needed to replace one of mine. Depending on the type you need ( deep cycle or starting ) and how much you want to spend, it came down to the AC Delco Voyager M29MF and a similar Interstate. Cost of each was close ... a little over $100. I finally decided on the Delco. Here are specs: Cold Cranking 675, Marine Cranking 845, Reserve Capacity 210 ( the highest I could find ). That's why I'm getting the Delco. Got a price of $117. Hope this helps.
Delco Voyagers. My first set lasted over 10 years!
