Talquin Flood 2-23

The wife told me I was crazy when I pulled out this morning. The guy at the bait store laughed when I told him I wanted a bag of ice and 4 dozen minnows. Got to the ramp and it continued to rain. ( And lightning). I didn't work 60 hours this week to sit in the pickup and "wait it out". So when the thunder bolts stopped we backed in put some rods out. Pink pony heads was a hot bait at the Curtain. Leaned two things today guys! Crappie will feed in the rain! And #2, a rain suit is NOT 100% rainproof!!! Got soaked but caught fish steadily. When rain stopped so did the bite. Ran up the river and actually caught the biggest one of the day in 4 fow. Good day. Long ride home in wet clothes but well worth it!

Nice mess of fish congratulations! Is that a Bubba Knife? If so pretty good? Thanks for the report and pics.

Yes sir its sharp but its hard to beat an electric rapala in my opinion.

Way to stay dedicated. I'd tell the wife she might not want to eat crappie crazy enough to bite in the rain

I fished in the rain.today until my phone started issuing tornado warnings, so headed home---my catch didn't look near as good as yours.

Admire your dedication! Was there Wednesday thru Sunday. Didn't get to fish as much as i wanted because of the rain but gave me time to do some much needed cleaning in the camper. DId catch some nice slabs but it was lots of work to find them. Look for better days ahead and the inside of my camper sure smells nice!:biggrin
