I hope it is true, anything that will help rid us of this mennis
I feel that if we can get us a cold tolerant weevil, then salvinia will not be near the problem for us that it is today. i understand that that best control of salvinia is with weevils if they can tolerate their environment. Hopefully there will be a g big effort to get these weevils where they willwork in North louisiana.
Not sure about introducing the weevils, I know from personal experience they will destroy crops as well. So I hope that this idea is well thought out by intelligent, well informed folks before being implemented.
Got agree with Tracker 123, someone thought Nutria was a good idea too.
Nutria were brought in to control the water hyacinth. The hyacinth were also brought in on purpose. So, sometimes it's best to leave things alone.
how bout love bugs? Id love to get ahold of that genius!
