Swoops Pond
Well, I was planning on going to my Wildlife refuge backwater secret holes after church. But my great nephew 4 years old bust through the door and jumped in my arms and said he wanted to go fishing, drive the boat, and shoot his new pellet rifle. Me only having girls, this was heaven to my ears ! So we loaded up and went to Swoops. No minners, he would have shot them if I'd had them :Rofl. I managed 12 good crappie on jigs. I think I would've done better if I didn't have too cock and reload his gun in between fish. But what a good time we had. He fell asleep on the way home. He said, when his moma came picked him up. " Tomorrow you can pick me up at daycare and we can go mud riding and shooting " :highfive. By the way those fish I cleaned, looked like they swallowed a ball. It was all shad.

You got it right ! Its feed by Spring Creek and a couple more springs in it. Not that many big boats in there usually. Its one of those places thats isolated by trees. Points, brush, stumps, all in 2ft to 15-18ft. Done better there over the years early in the season. But its too cold for me out there now.

How's the run to get back there? Last time I was toward the mouth it looked like it was 30ish foot or so just south of the causeway. Is it like that or close to it as you go south toward swoopes?

In Courtland go north on spring creek road, turn right on cr 388 2 miles then launch boat into swoops pond on the right. It is down by some houses and kinda hard for a large boat.Attachment 149240
