I got a new 360 for trolling motor. It has three wires and the instructions say red to 12 volt and black to ground. It also has another ground wire. What is it for?

I am not sure but I sure would appreciate some pics once you get on the water with it, been looking at em hard but think I want the transom mount.
i looked up the instructions and it dosent mention a 3rd wire for the power
I know that is the confusing part. It has two black wires and one red.
My transom mounted 360 has only two wires
I wonder if it's ground to TM skeg...for RFI...??
(Test OHMs across the 2 black wires maybe)...

I'd give the customer support folks a call on that one.
When you get it all mounted up can you post a photo of exactly how it mounts to the TM shaft?!
it said one is the drift wire and to tape it in the instructions
