Buying new electronics

What ever happened to buying something and it's ready to go right out of the box.
I bought the little honey's anniversary present today at lunch, took her into the place after she had her message and I got off of work so they could do a demo for her (fail--she has a short attention span) got home about 6:30 and just now finished with all of the updates--at least it wasn't difficult and she is happy (her being happy is my present :) ) I gave it too her now since I'm going to be very busy most of next week and our anniversary is the 14th. It's better to be early then late:)

I want one real bad too. Gotta wait for my HP to die. I'll probably get the windows surface pro so I can use it for work just because it has full version of windows 8.1 and Microsoft office. If not for that I'd get the galaxy too. It is pretty darn sweet.

I have IPad and daughter just got one of those. If I was doing right now I'd get the SurfacePro also. Lots of times I want to do something that IPad can't do so have to stop and get on main puter.

My wife, who hates computers, bought her a 10" Tablet (Apple I-Pad I think) to take on a bus tour to South Dakota. She just spent 4 hours with our 13 yr. old grand daughter learning to use hers. Our school district here issued tablets to all students last year and almost all their work is done on the Tablet. Homework, book reports, math tests, you name it.
Now our GD is an expert on the thing.
Goodness things have changes since I was 13.

Just got my dad a nexus 10 but I used it for a week. Liked the size of the screen but was just to big. I ended up getting a Samsung tab 3 8.0. It is a good size.

I can tell you one thing I can't stand I anything. Heck at work we strip Macs and load windows on em. Not a big fan of iTunes either

I tried to sell her on the 8" but since this is replacing her laptop she was dead set on the 10.1"
What she wants she gets :) hopefully it wont be too long before we move to tabs at work. I'm about tired of running around airports with a 20lb laptop LOL
