Geary is full of bluegills but if you want big ones I suggest finding a school of them in Milford
Doc, how is OSFL for gills?
If you want big gills my three favorites besides a few private ponds are Jewell State lake, Mcpherson State and then Milford. Ottawa doesn't have good size to them from what I have experienced.
Yep, that about sums that up pretty good. Finding humpy's and telling, well, that's kinda tough to do. Little cow ponds with stunted LMB's are some of the best I've ever found, lost a lot of them these last couple years though. Jewell's reports look good, but Milford when you find where they are can be quite rewarding.
Yah Joe that was a good time made it back there this summer with the Yak and was catching them one stuff I was throwing for largemouth.
Caught a couple of big bluegills at Geary a couple of weeks ago among very small crappie. The bluegills were straight across from the boat ramp very close to opposite shore in 2-4 ft. I had minnows (no bluegills) but the bluegills were nailing my wife's worms. A lot warmer then, tho. Probably going there sat! Green SeaArk Jonboat. - Brad
