Howdy everyone! Just a little about myself... I pretty much grew up on Lake Eufaula in Oklahoma. Our family lake place at Arrowhead Estates was given to me this year from my dad -- much work to be done to get the dock back up to good condition. But the memories I have are what keeps me going. My dad taught me early on about crappie -- catching and cleaning. I remember going out on his little Kingfisher with a 33hp Johnson and cutting cedars off the banks to bring back and tie off to the posts at the dock. That sure would bring the crappie in. We used to keep a calendar to record the number of pounds of filets we would clean every day. Big freezer was always full of bags of crappie filets -- till we would lose power for several days and lose everything in the freezer. But we always knew there were more where those came from. I think my thumb was constantly chewed up in the summer from cleaning so many crappie -- but there is nothing better to eat so it was well worth it.
Even before we had our own dock, I remember the early mornings going to Arrowhead Marina with my parents -- they had to get there as soon as the doors opened and stayed all day long. I'd go into the cafe at the Marina and curl up in a booth and sleep for a little longer. Then I'd get up and head out to fish -- I had to do my share to help fill up the basket with crappie.
Anyway, I look forward to finding new friends on this forum and hopefully will be able to share a little knowledge I have (how ever little that might be).

Welcome from Tulsa. My mother's side of the family is from that part of the state. Mainly the "Little Oklahoma" part of lake Eufaula. My mother and grand mother still live in town there. Grandma right in Eufaula by Eufaula cove and my mother just off of Hwy 9 a little bit. Looking forward to sharing the msg board with you. Happy fishing and stay safe. Bobo
