I have always been happy with Cabelas batteries. I have also have very good results with the batteries from Walmart. As long as the required maintenance is performed, any battery will serve you well.
There are those that believe you must spend $200 on a battery and I am sure those are excellent batteries but if you take care of the cheaper batteries they will last for years. I currently have 2 Walmart batteries that are 7 years old and are just as reliable as they were the day I bought them. Make sure they are always full of distilled water and keep them charged and they will last for a long time!
I just replaced a set of Walmart batteries after 5 years. Bought another set from Walmart!
Hey Sah I just saw an add for Exide 27group combo (start/troll) or 24 group starting batteries at Academy Sports in Overland Park for $49.99 after a $10.00 rebate. I just bought 2 deep cycle trolling batteries from Walley world and I've had good luck with em in the past, like everyone has said keep em charged and full of liquid.
I have Bass Pro's AGM batteries. They're pricey ($269 apiece) but I can fish all day long standing on the trolling motor and never feel any loss of power even after 3 years of use. Take care of them and charge them properly and most batteries will treat you right though.
Like it was said, The most important thing is proper care of your batteries.
I have the Wal-Mart batteries for my trolling motor - size 27.
And the Cabela's AGM size 31 for my starting battery.
The Cabela's AGM does not have the normal terminal post.
Need the buy the kit if you want / need the regular terminal post.
I have heard the Sears AGM batteries are good.

I have had REAL good luck with Deka marine brand batteries.
You sure the batteries aren't the other way around? 27 for starting and 31 for trolling.Quote:

Some days I don't run the big motor much so I just want to make sure it will start at the end of the day.
I hate having a dead starting battery on the water.:banghead
So far the 2- 27 size trolling motor batteries have worked great for a full day of fishing.
