I know this is mostly a north east group, but anyone fishing Longmire Lake near Pauls Valley? The boat ramp(s) was closed but I heard it's been open a couple weeks now.

It used to be a favorite for me. I haven't been down there is a couple of years because it was so low. This time last year the ramps ended 10' from the water, according to Goggle Earth. Good time to mark out the little creek channels. If it ever gets back to normal I'll spend some time there again. Guess I could take my kayak. Let us know if you try it.
I'm thinking seriously driving over on Saturday. I'm catching sooooo many fish near home that it almost doesn't make sense to drive 50 miles to fish another lake but I've been wanting to try it since I heard the ramps were back in the water.
If I head over and give you a report. If it's fantastic fishing, I'll report next Friday after I've filled the freezer!!!

It's one of my favorite lakes and I often fished it from 2007 on back earlier. Haven't been there since I moved to Lake Eufaula, but miss that little lake. It had a great population of crappie, not big slabs, but consistent in numbers. Usually fished the concrete intake tower, tied off to the metal ladder, and used minnows on crappie rigs. Let us know when you fish it again and how you do, thanks.
It used to be a great crappie lake! However I haven't been since the low water. I believe it still has lots of potential.
I heard the ramps are NOT in the water. Lake Ranger said that you can get a small boat in but have to carry it down to the water. He did say the fish were going nuts. This was yesterday. I won't go this weekend if I can't launch my boat. I cut the crap out of my foot Tuesday (7 stitches) so I won't be wading or walking far. That's what I know for now!!!
They were last year, I only live a few miles from the lake and go there quite often I am thinking about going this weekend so if I do ill report back, I do also have a question in years past they have required you to get either a day permit or annual for the lake and last year they did not have the permits there so I was wondering if I still got to get the permit and if so how?
I mostly come in on the south side and last year the store was closed every time I went and where you got them down by the bathrooms had a trash bag taped over it, didn't no about the north side having them though so ill have to go check that out. P.S didn't mean to get off topic sorry
I haven't fished it since March of last year. Wife & I camped there. We didn't have much luck. I figured the crappie would be hanging in all the trees, but couldn't get them to bite. I look forward to your report.
