First, make some foil containers like these.

Peel and slice your taters, carrots and cut up an onion, leaving 2 slices.

Put sliced carrots, then sliced taters, followed by chopped onion in the foil. Then add a hamburger steak with a slice of onion on top.

Fold over the ends of the foil and bake at 350 for 1 1/2 hrs.

I'll show the finished product after it gets done.

Wow!! that beats a crock pot any day.

Done got hungery, looks like its gonna be good.

They are good! The fat from the HB meat goes to the bottom and cooks the carrots and potatoes just right. The Boy Scouts make these and cook them in the coals of a campfire.

After you telling me about them today it's nice to see them, looks great except like I said, don't like cooked carrots. Except when I got home at noon Carol had pan fried some peas and carrots in olive oil and they were pretty good, not up to the dressing and gravy tho, sure do love dressing and gravy.

I have used the same recipe except I used pork chop. Both are good. When it is cooked over campfire coals it is even better.
