My nephew and his friend want to go fishing this morning. I hate to fish on these crowded lakes on a holiday weekend. But I agreed to guide them this morning. Maybe they will tire out before the lake gets too crowded. I don't plan to fish , so hopefully they'll pick up jig fishing quick.:biggrin Taking a camera and maybe post a few photos later.
HAHA. I got up at 5 this morning thinking I might go but after thinking about the water fleas and the heat I believe I'll wait until next weekend. Good luck.
Get em on some fish and show us some Picts. I thought I was crazy to go yesterday too with a bass tourney bout of Brodie bend.
If you think Nimrod is bad you should come here and have a look at Hamilton or Ouachita. I'm sure you guys get some boat traffic but around here folks think they need to bring out the cabin cruisers and cigar boats. Add alcoholic beverages to the mix and it get down right dangerous.
I came down and fished nimrod Saturday morning and had a limit by 9:00am just keepers with a few nice ones in the bunch also threw back at least as many dinks but there weren't that many boats out early
Well between the boats and wind it was tough. I really did not fish , just instructed the boys. They had never jigged structure before. It was slow but managed a couple quarts of fillets and released alot more dinks. Here are a few photos.

Yeah, the water looks pretty calm in the background. Looks like they had a good time and caught a few crappie and that's really all that matters. Good job Nimrod!
