I recently purchased a new Minn Kota 330D on board charger for my boat (and 3 batteries). I also bought the remote charging port that allows you to simply hook an extension cord in when being used. If not being used, it has a protective cover that locks in place.
My question is... Where would be the best place to install the remote charging port on the boat? Where is yours installed?
Thanks for any help. I really don't want to mess this up and regret where I placed it later.
I got a 220D and no nothing about a remote charging port. Are you talkin about a square lookin black piece to plug the charger cord into when not being used? If so I mounted mine in the Bat compartment cause thats where the charger is mounted.

I am planning on installing one also. I have a 16.5 Tracker and now the cord is loose in the battery compartment and feeds up through the access door on the back deck. I.m thinking of putting mine on the back deck in a corner nearest where my extension cord feed is. I think it is flat enough not to be in the way and if I can get it as close to the edge as I think I can. You would be close to falling overboard if you stepped on it.

I think, if I had one, I'd mount it in the splashwell .. up on the vertical wall, near the corner closest to wherever the charger is mounted. The snap cover should keep any backwash water from getting into it. It would also be a simple move to reach the ext. cord under the boat cover & plug it in ... if you didn't plug it in before putting the cover on.

Just to let you know. It will void your waranty if you cut the power cord to the charger to wire it to that plug.
umm.. the ac plug end goes into that holder. The holder comes apart so you can install the plug inside the holder.
