Best Stick

I'm sure this has been discussed on here before, so forgive me for asking.... I'm looking for the following qualities in a jigging pole and I'd love for ya'll to chime in your opinion(s) of what makes/models are best: 11', thin EVA foam handle, no fixed reel seat, lightweight as possible, but with plenty of back bone for moving fish out of vegetation. I've tried a few models over the years, but it seems like to get the light weight in an 11 footer I've had to sacrifice back bone. Let me know what you pros recommend... Thanks!

Tav, Don't know about all those qualities in one stick, but for jigging I love the BnM Sam Heaton, about the same with the Tony Edgar Ozark rod.They both are real sensitive, but have backbone to lift out. Also the Bnm BGJP is a good one. If you want not so sensitive, and give up a little weight, the BnM brushcutter has plenty of backbone.Think this is why they make Chevy's and Fords.Nobody is going to agree on any one rod.

Hey TAV - For what it is worth I use a BnM Brushcutter jig fishing. It has all the backbone to get those slabs out of cover. When I spider rig I slow troll jigs I use The Crappie Pole. They use to call it a Crappie Stick. It is a good jiggin pole also. Light and sensitive. For crankbaits I use the BnM Pro Staff. I also use it for double trolling minnows if I have to use 1oz weights. All of these can be bought at Grizzly Jig and the have replacement tips. Also they are all fixed seat with 12-18" of butt

i have used every kind of jig pole made over the years and four years ago i found the " crappie getter" made by american rod smith this is the best jig pole on the market 2nd to none. it is light weight and precision blanced it is the ultimate dippin rod. they come in 10,11 and 12ft. i use the 11 and 12 ft they are 39.95 at grizzly jig. if you dont like these rods you dont like nothing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the input guys! I've been using the crappie sticks from grizzly for a few years now, but am looking at picking up a couple new poles.

Drew I ust to never use a rear reel seated jig pole, but now its hard for me not to go verticle with one in my hand. I like the balence the reel puts on the back and makes the rod feel lighter in my hand. I use a Tony Hager Signature series rod from Ozark rods. I love the Titanium tip on this rod and it takes a licking and keeps on ticking. I have also felt the Meatgetter rods that RTARK just bought are a fine senistive rod also i would recommend you picking one of these up up before you buy one. I believe they make em with the reel forward also If I cant convert you. LOL

drew the 10 and 11ft rod have the reel on the end, the 12ft are about 6-8in up from the end these are the best jig pole i have ever fish with. also check you pms. i sent you one about your jigs.

you made a very good choice. a crappie getter rod with a meatgetter jig is a deadly combination !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
