Seems like bad luck comes in bunches. Things will smooth out...eventually.
Good luck. Hope you're back on the water soon.

Aahhhhh the joys of owning a boat!!!! Glad you got her going again Beagle. Are you sure it was a rat chewing the wires and not Darrell or Buzzy?:p

Glad you got it figured out and now about rewired. I am trying to figure out what happened to my batteries during Crappie Masters last Friday. Sucks losing over 3 hours of fishing time in the biggest tournament of the year on Truman. May have lost a cell in one of my trolling batteries. I had switched one of them out that day with the 4th battery which is an extra I leave in the boat for situations like this. So charging the one I think it is up right now and will stick the load tester on it to see if I lost a cell. Good luck finishing up and hope that takes care of all the issues with it.

Beagle- Same thing happened to my truck last winter. All the 4wd lights came on, but I had no 4wd. Anti-lock brakes wouldn't work. Wouldn't shift into overdrive. Had the same thing winter before last and Toyota said it was a wiring harness and fixed it under warranty. This winter though they said a rodent had chewed the wiring. Cost me almost $600 to fix it. I think that was the problem the first time, they just didn't catch the fact that it had been chewed on. Have also had them ruin the ignition wire on my 4 wheeler and my brother had one in his motor home that caused a lot of damage. Toyota said that they have been told they like to chew the wiring because they use vegetable oil in the coating. Don't know if that is true, but for some reason they do like to knaw on them.

Hate to hear it Beagle but at least your gettin it fixed back up. I had to rewire a van on Thursday that one of them rodents chewed through 4 wiring harnesses. I shoot every one of them that i see around my house. Had a Grand Am in acouple weeks ago that the owner had found a Ground Hog up under the hood and that damn thing had reeked havoc on the wiring took me a good 5 hours to splice all that back together.

I'm surprised you have any rats or mice around with those beagles. Anything that walks, crawls , hops, or flys is dead meat around these two I got from you. They are always leaving us "gifts" at the front door. I got home from fishing today and here is what was waiting for me. Purdy ain't it?:DAttachment 63727

shut up fuzzy, bob I do not let my dogs run amuck, and the rats we got here would whip a dog for sure.
anyway got the wires traced and located all the cuts, re spliced liquid tape, and tape, zip ties and everything is working.
I guess this is the year of the rat. cars, truck, boats, guess I will sit out after dark with a Dos equis and a spot light and a 22 LR let the fun begin
