Whoa is me..
Shortly after I purchased my boat, I called the courthouse to get my tags and pay taxes. The lady there told me that if I bought the boat from an individual, I would not have to pay any taxes. Naturally this made me very happy and I even p'd myself abit.
The old feller that owned the boat had taken it to his local marina and simply had them sell it for him so he didn't have to bother (consignment). Yes his name is on the title.
Here's the catch. The bill of sale is a marina receipt in which the marina states they are representing the owner.
So I check my mailbox this evening and here it is.. my registration #'s.....
Nope. More like the state rejecting me and wanting their $700 in taxes.:mad::mad:
Can't win for loosing these daysDoh
