Getting started
Ok guys, I am an avid crappie fisherman and love to catch on jigs. Got a new born on the way so my time on water is limited but time at home is endless. Could someone give me a list of the essentials for tying 1/16 and smaller jigs. I would use mostly hair and feathers, this seems to be what i use most of. any help would be appreciated.
Also if anyone has some materials and tools lying around they want to get rid of please send me a message.

Well here is the first problem with this forum stuck inside of another. We may be getting lots of these. Are we ready for a sticky yet?

Yes just read the sticky thread at the top of this board and that should help a good bit.

You have lots of info here so don't rush, take your time and make good decisions that fit what you can or want to do.

Have fun with this new hobby. At the top of the jig tying forum, as others have said, is a wealth of information on basic materials to get started as well as some very good jig tying videos. The longest journey starts with just that first step. You have done that. Now have fun. Be sure you get a ceramic bobbin and other tools when possible. I also recommend flat waxed nylon thread.
