I do believe that bait will work well in some areas, but do not think it will be a big hit where I fish. I do love basstackle molds though. They are awesome molds and Kevin is a great guy. He has several molds I would love to have. I already have a few of his molds that are great.
And again. Kevin has another version of a bait that is popular. And the new mold has some new designs in it. Take a look and see what you think. Big cavity count too. Frank
Super mold, Tadpole mold, 32 cavities and includes the sheet for making lamanates. One problem $220.00. My wife would kill me. Think I'll let Bob make them.
dang him, why did he have to go make that awesome mold after I am broke and have no money. It looks so much like a bait that was advertised here on crappie.com. I want to say maybe it was from lakefork tackle but not for sure. Whichever one it was they sent samples to people to try before they were going to launch it. I was very skeptical of the bait and did not think it would work. I was fooled. I caught some nice crappie on it. This bait design is just a tab little bit different than that one. I lov it and might have to go rob a bank to buy it. His molds are great.
Frank if you buy this mold, please send me a sample ok. I gotta try and get you some stuff sent back when I get a chance. I owe you a few baits for those samples you sent me, but heck, you probably got all the molds I have anyway ha ha
I am a little confused on the plate for shooting laminates. The plate is shown in the pic to be dividing the main flow inlet and the sprew holes only. It does not show it dividing the cavities in two halves. I would think that once the plastic entered the cavity it will fill up both halves since the cavity itself is not divided. Seems to me you would still need some sort of two color injector. I guess I am a little confused, maybe someone can explain it to me better. I use a plate on my molds or aluminum foil that covers or splits the cavities but does not cover the sprew holes so I am a little confused.
Hmm look like knock offs from Crazy Anglers slab bandits. What a shame.
The bait is very similar to the slab bandits, but it has some differences. The slab bandit looks similar to other baits as well. I have said it before and I will say it again. Crappie baits are so small that it is hard to make many changes and still make affective fish catching baits. Someone, somewhere has thought about a lot of the designs before most of them have been made in the first place. Some people do not have the capabilities to make the molds. I can tell you I have thought about that design years ago. If I had the money and a way to make the molds, there would be so many out that anything would resemble one of them. Basstackle is a great mold maker, as well as the others who make molds. They offer us great products and by them making similar molds it keeps the prices affordable and allows them all to make a little money to feed their families. I say we let the mold makers settle any issues between themselves and in the meantime enjoy the great products they all produce
