We have a 16' X 50" Alumaweld boat at the lake and I have build a big deck in the front and my plan is to mount these on each side.
From the ones I have seen on here these should work.

We plan to try them out on Thursday.
Looks like they will do the job.
They look good, just need to make sure they won't turn to the side while pullin or when you have a big catfish hit your cranks. If they turn it's a good chance your rod will get pulled out of the holder.
I don't see why those won't work & it's good to see you like to build stuff for yourself, but like Slabo said, make sure they won't turn toward the back of the boat, especially the ones on the port side.

The way those holders work they have a lip on them that I don't think they will turn, I thought about welding an stop on them, and may still do that if I have problems.
I angled them to keep the rod in them if you notice in the picture one is angled one way and the other one the other way, one for the left side of the boat and one for the right.
I will get some pictures when we get them mounted and hit the water on Thursday.
Still think you're to be commended for doing it yourself. Wish I could.
Looks good, hopefully the work well. Now you can go catch some fish.
From what little experience I have pulling cranks, it you angle them forward, it will put your lines closer together regardless of what length rods you are using. Straight out will give you most separation, and , believe me, separation is a good thing. Just something to think about if you want to.Quote:
