Which anchor winch do you have, the one rated for 25lbs or 40lbs?? Please post a picture of how you have yours mounted to your boat. Thanks You also mentioned on a battery question thread that you plug your on-board charger in as soon as you get home from fishing, more details please. Pics always help. Thanks again.
Maj, always recharge as soon as you can. It not good fir them to sit partially discharged.

On board charger is the only way to go. I have a 3 bank charger on my boat. When I get home from fishing, I just plug into an extension cord.

maj, we have a 3 bank onboard charger. it's so much easier to use........we just plug it up every time once we get back. also, like wb stated (hate to agree with him) never leave your batteries without charging for an extended time......it will damage them over time.
Thanks all, do you have 12 or 24v tms, does it matter? Does it also connect to crank battery or just the tm?
I have a 24v system. The only thing about charging batteries with on onboard charger, monitor your water levels in the battery. If a cell goes dry the battery will be ruined if you charge it without water.
also on charging your batteries, I always let mine get as low as I can before I charge them because if you charge them after you have only used the battery for a short period of time, the batteries will eventually develop a "memory" and they will eventually get to where they won't hold a full charge.
Deep cycle batteries DO NOT develop memory. Always charge as soon as you get home, no matter how much you used your batteries. Cell phone, and two way radio batteries, do develop memory. They are an entirely different thing.Quote:
