You can not go wrong with crickets or worms! That way if the crappies dont bite you may catch a brim or catfish. Either way YOU CATCH FISH!

Went to Sinclair yesterday for approximately 2hrs; caught 5 and missed 5. Spent the entire time in one creek trolling over brushpiles in 15 to 25 feet of water. The water looked like chocolate milk and my Garmin called the temp at 45 (trolling motor - deeper in water) whereas my hummingbird called 47. The most effective presentation was simply a #2 hook and minnow, followed by jig tipped with minnow, and I got zero bites on jigs without minnow.
jus go to that deep hole in granite shoals and fill the boat.. they love crickets deep like that!! smh

Tore'em up in Rooty creek today, alot of small fish, you have to weed through'em! Best color was electric chicken.
what makes Rooty Creek so popular? I hear many people talk about it and "Big Ed" always advises me to go there. I fished it once and caught 10-15 fish but it was nothing special. I usually avoid going there because I hate the idea of being in a traffic jam.

We wound up in the cove beside his store, caught a few, pink/black/pink worked best for us

That's just what he does when he only has till lunch time to fish,when he has all day he goes on past crooked creek and on up river to the oconee dam.. takes boat out and drags it around the dam and puts back in on oconee side.
Then trolls on up Richland to that 30ft hole in front of granite shoals catches bout 40 3lbrs on them cricktts and back to little river before dark...even faster if they pulling water!
Detailman......those are some nice rigs !! Thanks for the ideas. If I can finish mine by feb. think I'll fish the oconee tournament. I know a good hole in granite shoals.
