going to kill batterys, won't have any power, may over heat motor too
yeah thats what im thinking ive been on hold with minn kota for 40 minutes now,,wtf lol
Maybe you can use your cranking battery as one of the TM batteries. Some people operate that way. Moderate sized outboards can be cranked with a deep-cycle. Like anything to save money or weight, there are trade-offs to doing it that way, but it will work.
Are we talking about the new Legend? Struggling? Surely we're talking about a different boat.
Options:
1) mount a battery tray in one of the front compartments and wire accordingly.
2) step down a battery size - may not be a good idea depending on how you fish
3) Step up to AGM or Optima spiral cell. Lighter weight per battery - 3 Optimas will weigh about what 2 lead acids would be. Don't tell your wife you even know me if she sees the check for that.
4) Redistribute weight from the rear to the front and or re-evaluate what is in the boat in order to thin it out some.
5) Prop - stepping down a pitch or two would dig you out of the hole faster, but might be a problem on the top end depending on how you're propped now. Custom prop work might help as well.
6) Punt the 36V TM and step back to a 24V - do you really need the thrust?
7) Hire a fat buddy to bounce up and down on the front deck when you take off. If you're on any kind of a consistent bite, I work cheap.

lol thanks guys wantabe your a nut lol, i moved one of the batteries 2 the front compartment, yeah its the new legend, but i got alot of crap in the rear, a 42 gallon gas tank, 2 power poles, 2 pumps for power poles , was 4 batteries now 3 ,oil tank res.,2 adapter plates for the power poles, the stealth charging system, the old 3 bank charger that came on the boat, it all adds up, i was getting a descent hole shot with the trophy prop, but just switched to a fury, plus i still had a plug in prop and believe i had it up a bit on high side , dropped it back down to 3 1/4 below pad, im gonna test her out tomorrow and see what i got...hope sher jumps right up and goes, and goes fast lol
OK, you drive a hard bargain, I'll do it for free and bring the snacks. Deal?
You're definitely on the right track. Moving the weight and jiggling on the JP/prop. How much does the onboard charger cost you in weight? You could rig it external with plugs from each lead to each battery - Guessing it'd save you 30-50 pounds depending. Course, you've have to hook and unhook each one each time.
