Can u run fishfinder off of trolling motor if 24 volts?
I have a new Eagle 480 fishfinder and trying to mount it to my trolling motor. Do I need to run power wire all the way back to Starting battery ... or can I simply tie into the trolling motor wiring (which runs to 2 x 12 v batteries - 24 volts)???? Is the voltage too much for the Eagle? Will it burn it up or not?
Yup, hook to the crankin' battery...

to avoid TWENTY-FOUR volts, too. Check w/ the manufacturer but I'd say it was made for 12v and you just can't put 24v on it and expect it to survive.
When running the new hot wire, run it down the opposite side of the boat that you have the tm wires on. This will eliminate the chance of interference.
