bad weekend

last weekend was a bad weekend for me because of the dreaded honey do list, i never new ir would take 3 days to do the things around the house that needed to be done so i tried to finish the list she gave me so i could go out fishing but when something got done something else came up, my ridind mower broke so i had to push mow my yard that took me abour 3 hours to do then i repaired some leaks in the celing that went into Saturday mulched,cut limbs, trimmed the pear apple and plum trees, until about 5pm then i thought i have a few hours to try and get some fishing in so i went to a lake my prop. was broken and i thought i'd just troll for some crappie i put the boat in and the wind picked up and blew me away from my honey spot because i have a 28 foot pound trolling motor that wouldn't pull the hat off your head on a 5mph windy day, ended up having to be towed back to the dock with only 3 fish (which i let go) and packing it up only to not fish on Monday because of the honey do list all the while having my buddies that i normally fish calling me telling me how the gills were on the beds and they were tearing them up (5 calls) well this weekend i have no honey do list and i plan on catching up. did anyone else miss fishing because of this dreaded list?

First Thing Is What You Do Is Throw The Wife Into The Boat! Get Her On Top Of Some Big Crappie. Let Her Catch Them! Tell Her How Proud You Are Of Her. Go Home And Fry Them Up For Her!

When I Started With My Wife About Honey Do Lists And Fishing I Did It A Little Different Because At The Time We Didn't Have A Boat!

I Went Out And Caught A Bunch Fishing Off Banks, Docks Anywhere I Could Catch Crappie From Without A Boat. I Came In And Fried Them Up For Her. She Got Hooked On The Taste Of Them. She Told Me I Needed To Catch More Fish! I Told Her I Needed A Boat! Got The New Lowes Crappie Stinger 175 In March Of Last Year. Then I Told Her That I Needed To Update All My Crappie Jig Skirts. So She Let Me Order 5,000 Of Them The First Order Then Allowed Me To Order About 3,500 More. She Helped Me Sort Them.

I Went Out Got Her Some Rods, Crappie And A Bass Rod. She Got Into Some Bass Last Year And Kind Of Got Hooked. So I Did A Couple More Fish Frys. This Year I Have Been Working Only Crappie. Took Her Out A Couple Of Times So Far And She Has Caught Fish. Last Friday She Got On Them Good Catching Her First Over 12 Inch Crappie! We Ended Up With 2 Limits And She Helped Me Clean Them!

Just Becareful! My Wife Is Now Looking At Crappie Tournments! And Since I Found This Site She Is On It As Much Or More Than I Am Checking The Fishing Reports! And She Even Gets Up At 2 Am With Me And Makes Sandwiches And Helps Me Load The Boat!

And There Hasn't Been Anything Said About Honey Do Lists! Lol All I Get Now Is Honey The Freezer Is Getting Low On Fish Don't You Think You Need To Go Fishing?

sounds like you got it down and that's very good advice but the thing is my wife is from Wisconsin so she knows what it's like to get into some big fish she and her dad were the ones to get me into fishing they got me hooked and now her love for it has fizzled out and she is more into her beautiful yard and land scaping i've tried to get her back out there but she wants to wait until her dad comes down to visit, that's going to be this weekend so maybe we can get her out there and get into a bunch of fish and she will hopefully get hooked again.

Hope you get a chance to go fishing this weekend. I have been putting off my honey do list for a couple years now. I think it is about to catch up with me. I have some painting I have to do, so I think I know how most of my summer weekends are going to end up.

What in the world ya gonna do with 8,500 skirts? Do you have a second boat
to carry the gear? Seriously, twenty years ago my love interest(now my wife) asked why I didn't take her fishing? I explained that I was serious about
fishing and didn't like distractions. She said if you take me I will not be a problem. So, I did! She loved it (we really killed em that day, limits on three different species!) Since then she drives the boat, backs up the truck to load and unload, cleans fish, puts on her own bait, even leeches, and wants to go
as much if not more than me. I'm a rod builder, jig maker and reel repair, so I
spend a lot of money on supplies. She's never said a word about the money only the fact that she caught a three pound Crappie a couple of years ago that was 2 ounces bigger than mine. Now she offers to help me catch one like hers!!!!!!!
God love them fishing wives!!!!!!!

I think the honey do list is just about done, I have just a little more to do this afternoon when I get off work, so this weekend it's on, and she has agreed to go with me so hopefully we will get on alot of fish so she can feel my NEED to go fishing.

Make her a list before you go fishing and tell her it better be done when you get back!!!

hey Bamaman, i think i'd be better off keeping the peice with her that way if we have a good day she'd be willing to go with me or understand better why i love to fish so we will see how it goes.
