Mississippi County Lakes..

Big Lake, Mallard Lake, Youth Lake, etc...

Very new to fishing (in general) and recently bought a boat 14' jon w/ 9.9 evinrude and trolling motor. So i'm ready to fish only problem is i cant seem to catch any crappie. If anyone, ANYONE can help me please do.

I have bought a few poles 10' jigging and I have fished, talked and read enough to know a little about this stuff, and don't get me wrong I have caught a few fish out of mallard just not that many and not consistent by no means.

The only fish I can seem to catch is bream off of the bank and to youth lake while my boat and truck are behind me after I get skunked on Mallard.

I've never fished Big Lake or Mallard, but I've driven by them, and they sure look good. My understanding is that Big Lake was created by the New Madrid earthquake just like Reelfoot. You would think that the fishing would be of similar quality, and Reelfoot sure has a great reputation.
