Jig tying class/seminar

Having recently started to tie jigs, I'm wondering if there is any
where near Madison, Wisconsin that has classes or a seminar or
just a kind fellow that would "take me under his wing" and show
me a few things. Specifically I would like to learn tying chenille,
hackle and maribou.
After building and repairing rods for over forty years, I've brought in
many guys and shown them how to build rods at no charge, more often
not giving them guides, thread, glue and etc. to get r done! Hopefully
there is a jig tyier out there that feels the same.

Bass pro has fly tying seminars, I know there is not one in wisconsin. If there is a Cabelas near you they might have some classes that would help you.



There is also lots of videos on you tube

There is a Gander Mt. 12 miles from the house, never thought about
that. I should of as I have put on classes at sports shop in rod building.
I'll check them out!

You can also find online tying classes if you want. They are going to be fly tying, but that is where it comes from anyway and lots they do can be applied to this.

As skip said most of the tying we do mimics fly tying, If you can't find the class's as your local sports shop check out a local fly tying group. The other place I can point you to is a fav of mine and how I learned alot of tying

Al Campbell. Lessons are step by step and clearly shown.

There's some fly patterns that I tie on small jig hooks to get deeper fish. Enjoy and practice.

There's an Orvis store in Madison. The local Orvis stores run fly tying classes year-round. Check with this one to see if they do as well:
