Bluegill
On friday i went to gissburg ponds to catch some bluegill. I did very well on fish mostly around five inches with some in the 7-8" range. The weird thing was that all these fish were caught in water 3 feet or less, the biggerst came in water about a foot deep in the middle of the day. I thought bluegill went deep in the summer? Especially in the middle of a sunny day.

No not with te recent weather patterns and the drop in water temperature. The recent weather patterns have put the fish in a fall pattern in smaller ponds and lakes do to how quick they cool off at night.I was out bass fishing yesterday and got all the fish in 6ft of water or less, and I was getting largemouth in less than 2 feet.

That would explain the largemouths i saw cruising the shoreline to. I saw one that was around 23-25". Can anyone give me anytips on fishing gissburg for bass. I know it has good sized bass but i there is almost no structure and the fish just seemed to be randomly scattered.

Throw reaction baits like jerkbaits(suspending) , spinnerbaits and crankbaits, for the cruisers go with senkos. I think there is a lay down in one of the lakes so try a spinnerbait around that if its still there and then work it back over with a Jig and Pig. The banks drop off pretty quick to so they might suspend off the sides of them. Really fish alot with a jerkbait in a silver color there.
Hope this helps.
