Finally found my craws
I knew I had some done up that looked halfway decent but couldn't find them until I went through all my boxes looking for something else. They are all just over 2 inches long and just under 1 inch wide.

Now all I need to do is find the material for the claws again and make some better ones as flies and on jig heads. Thinking of using some of This for the claws as the stuff I used really isn't meant for fishing. I am thinking the Lt. mottled brown or the bugskin brown. If some of you would look though the bug skin and let me know if there is a color that might be better please let me know.

I would say it is a toss up between the light and the medium bugskin brown colors those where the two colors I would choose from if i knew how to tie something like that.

Nice fish"Luv that weave body"great idea w/ the skins"old/new football skins?lol"what is that bud?"

The weave is larva lace and the claws are a material I found, vinyl I think, but the bottom side is white and I had to glue them together to make the claw and tail two sided. Will have to do the same with the Bug Skin but at least the bottom side isn't white on the bug skin.

fish
couldn't you use two differnt sheets of craft foam like fly tyers do and then cut it out of that??? Would be way cheaper than bugskin. Just givin ya an idea to try and save some dollars.

Definitely could for a claw up floating version. I have used it in the past and it is easy to color up with permanent markers to get a good pattern. The bugskin is just different and is supposed to soak up water to give a flowing full look.
I am always looking for materials to make it look right and keep the price down. I wish I could find some stuff I have seen before that would be perfect and really cheap but haven't seen it in years.
Basically it was a material that has wrinkle type lines in it but it was the same on both sides and no color variation on the edges. If anyone knows what I am thinking of please tell me. The coloration was a mottled brown and I think it was a material for coats and jackets but not sure.
