Just to give you a report on Poinsette, we fished there last Saturday and caught 42 keepers. Only 3 females. Water temp was around 62 degrees. Fished there Friday and caught 15 keepers. High winds. Fished there again today and only caught 4 keepers. Water temp was 69 degrees. I'm thinking it might be over for there.
Any Horseshoe reports?? Havent been there in a couple of weeks.
Me and the wifey went friday to horseshoe. caught 13 keepers 10" up to 14" in about 1 1/2 foot of water.
Thanks for the update. I wonder how much rain Horseshoe receive?? Thinking about going back this weekend. We got somewhere close to 5 inches up here so i figure that might really screw things up for a few days.
I talked to a man that lives on Poinsette last week. He said that the fish were around the beds, but they seem to move on and off. I have not been down there to check myself but I imagine they are back on them with the warm weather that we have had.
Anyone heard good things about Hogue lately? Haven't been in about 3 weeks.
I imagine Horseshoe received ZERO rain.
They weren't on the beds on Sunday. Or if they were, i couldn't find them. Fished for 7 hours and only scrapped out 5 keepers. Those 5 did come off the bank though. With the wind blowing 30 mph it was hard to stay on one spot very long.
I haven't been to Hogue in about 3 weeks. We were catching them at the end of March but we stopped catching big fish about 3 weeks ago and we moved. So i don't know whats going on now. Only story i've heard is people are catching big bream.

Big bream at Hogue? I am supposed to take my young neices fishing this weekend if weather permits and planned on doing some bream fishing so the girls can catch some fish and not be bored. I havent fished hogue much, where would be a good place to target some bream. Several years ago, there was alot of buckbrush of sorts on the eastern side of the lake.......Any information would be great!

Buckbrush is still there and should be productive, but when we were catching the crappie we were drifting in the wind across the middle and catching some big bream as well. Fishing with a jig tipped with a nibblet below a float at about 3 feet. I don't think you have trouble finding them. Watch the wind. It can get pretty bad down there with a 15 mph wind. Good Luck! Thanks a bunch and will let you know what I find if I am able to go this weekend. I figure with all this rain we've had, should raise the levels around here and get fish into that brush hopefully
