Ouachita Report - 25 April
Brother Tom and myself fished 4 fow in the exposed brush, using weedless jigs and No.#6 crappie minnows. We caught 24 altogether, keeping 14. The largest was 16 1/4. We had five over 15 and the remainder were 12 inches or better.
The wind was tough but we did what we could to find shelter from it and fished all day. No limits, but some really really good whites--and good eatin' too!
With the water temps at the mid-sixties and the whites coming up, it looks like that this next week will be 'clean-up' week, fer sur. <><

Welcome to the forum Razorback33!
I had good luck on buckbrush--much of it on the South and North banks. But the pattern was 'buckbrush, 4 fow or less.' We even have been catching them up the river (South fork) in the (you guessed it) buckbrush. The North fork, above the Hwy 27 bridge, is still nasty, last I heard.
Looks like the weather is gonna be a bear this week, but I have a roof on the pontoon and 14' Wally Marshalls that serve me well! :)
You have found a good forum with good folks rich in fishin' wisdom, who are not afraid to share information. Hope to hear more from you and maybe a good fishin' story or two.
