Badin Lake/Friday 4/24/09
Craig and I got to Badin at 9 AM. The temp was already warm and we could tell it would be a hot day on the lake but a nice one. Ran up to Ole Whitney and started trolling bucktails and deep diving plugs. Nothing for three hours gradually making it to couple hundred yards of TT dam. Met a fellow who had been in one spot since daylight. Nothing. Told the fish had turned off since Monday. Oh well.....moved back toward the Alcoha landing bout noon. Marked scads of bait and several big blips feeding just under them. Tossed out the bucktails and plugs. Wham....20 minutes later a 27 lb 14 oz blue catfish. Trolled another 30 minutes moved on down to the islands. Picked up one wp and two stripers bout 5 PM. Headed home. Nice lake Badin and after the first hour of navigating it all came back to me after many years of not being on the lake. Going back.
