Humminbird customer complains
I have spent over $3,500 on the current Humminbird equipment that I am currently using so I feel I have a right to complain about my own equipment. First, and foremeost I do appreciate all the the H'bird guys do to help.
Now the complaint:
My Matrix has apparently got something wrong with it to thew point it has blow the in-line fuse on both my boats. I'll check to verify this later. Since the lastest update I have a problem with the depth, and use of the 200/80 setting on the sonar(now only works with 200) and the boat icon actually leaves a gap between the trail and the icon. This exaggerates the slow update problem we all know and love.
The 997 since the last update showed a temp of -2 degrees F this morning.
I see now that prior to the update we are supposed to restore defaults. This may not be unavoidable, but would have been nice to know BEFORE the update was placed on the website. AND about the website, do you guys also notice that the H'bird website doesn't have images of a lot of their products. Looking back that doesn't make me bubble over with confidence in a company, when that company's product is actually technology based.
I mainly fish Reelfoot a stump in 2D at Reelfoot is practically invisible, except for the fact the bottom line disappears at the exact place of the stump.
I'm sure most of it is operator error, but I should have lucked into better output than either of these units has shown me so far.
Now PLEASE fix the slow GPS response. When I say fix, I mean make it work the way your competitors GPS systems work.
I apologize, but it's frustrating looking at that black screen all day then I got a call from DTG, and he got me started. I realize some of you guys make your living at Humminbird, but your living is made from people like me, or at least it was. I believe in dollar votes, if I complain and still buy something you win. No more dollars from me. And I will strongly promote the products I purchase.
I'll try the restore defaults update deal tomorrow, on both units.
