Depends on what you want. I believe that marabou is very small and not strung. So if you like it then get it, but I guess that regular job must be a distant memory with you wanting pounds of marabou, LOL!

I bought some bulk marabou some time back from a feather supplier, and was not happy on the size of them. 1 to 4 inches advertised and I recieved mostly 1 to 2 inch feathers. Very few were long enough to tie into jigs. 1 pound, are you making pillows?

figure I would go into the sleeping bag business :):).
As far as the other real job,you never know when it would happen. Still waiting for Obama to come the the rescue!! So with that right around the corner......... you never know :)
Look good quality strung marabou wholesales for about $63 +- a little so when you see $17 a pound then you should have something telling you that it may not be what you think it is. I have seen some of there marabou feathers and that $17 stuff is very small feathers. If that is what you wan though then you should get it.
I talked to a feather wholesale guy the other day and ask how much for strung neck hackle and they said something like $40 something. I ask how long are they and the answer was 3"-4" maybe a few 5" so I ask well how much for 4"-6" strung neck hackle and the answer was on that is $87 a pound. The place I buy from is a tiny bit more than that, but I know them and like what I get. Mostly though I stick to the package and only got one color of marabou and 3 in neck hackle by the pound and just got them.

Those zucker products are what you find in JoAnnes fabrics. Some of them can be pretty cheap.
