talapia/oscar?
Some of ya'll may have read my post about being here in Fl. at the hospital for the last 3 months.
There are 3 ponds at the hospital, not huge or deep but full of critters.Noticed some beds on the edges, but can't get a close look at the fish as the spook when I get closer than 50 feet.
Anyway,I'm thinking of fishing them just for a break once in a while to strech out from just sitting in the room.
C/R only,no messing with live bait.Thinking of using a beetle spin or roadrunner...or just maybe a jig under a float.Have no clue what fish are there, might even be some bass...who knows?
Any suggestions on what to pitch...just want to carry a rod and 2 or 3 lures with me and get some exercise...if I catch something that would be a bonus...I'll steer clear of the gators:eek::eek::D

Sorry to hear about the reason your down in our part of the country. Wishing fast recovery for all concerned.
As far as pond fishing, I would definately use a beatle spin (black w/yellow stripe). Bass, crappie, bluegill, shoot everything will hit one. White or chartruse Roadrunner would be my second choice. If they are talapia, you could make a few quarter inch dough balls outta some left over bread. That and worms are all I know they will hit.
Hope this helps.

Big beds as in wide...not real deep...at least 3-4 feet in diameter..very shallow...right up to the bank in some spots.
These are small ponds around the hospital..lot of landscaping around...so tons of debris/leaves/etc. on the bottom...beds are clean as a whistle so easy to spot!
